We are very happy to announce that there will be a brand new Museu do Bairro, now Entre Gerações! Young and old from Lisbon’s west side, in Ajuda and Alcântara, will discover and express artistically what material, natural and immaterial heritage of the territory they inhabit is most precious to them. Their choices and the way in which they express them will be on show at the Museu do Bairro – Entre Gerações, in an exhibition celebrating the process they have made together.

Along the way, there is an exchange of knowledge: the older generation teaches the skills needed for everyday life, gives a diachronic perspective to the new media learners and offers the history of the place, the city and even the country through their life stories. The younger generation supports digital skills and together they dismantle fake news, deconstruct polarization and celebrate community.
4Change will be promoting this project, in partnership with:
– Yellow CUSCA Cultural Association
LIGA Foundation – Senior Club
The methodology used will once again be participatory photography, which has already produced such good results at the Museu do Bairro.
In the images:
1 – Identity of the project
2– Signing of the protocol, under the BIP/ZIP Program (Lisbon’s Priority Intervention Neighborhoods and Zones)
3 – First partnership meeting, with planning and timetable – as well as a little media literacy quiz to warm up
The Museu do Bairro – Entre Gerações (Neighborhood Museum – Between Generations) is an active citizenship project with the aim of enhancing communities and boosting the social and digital inclusion of seniors from the BIP (Priority Intervention Neighborhoods) of Alcântara and Ajuda – Casalinho da Ajuda, 2 de Maio, Cascalheira / Alvito Velho and Rio Seco.
