The COMENSI project – continues to prepare the local work that will start at the end of the summer: we spent 2 days in Berlin with the partners from five countries Bond Of Union (Italy), Mapping for Change (UK), Prostorož (Slovenia) and Tesserae (Germany) preparing the COMENSI Toolkit: which will be launched when we return from vacation, in a 4C Talk to close the summer and open the work in Aid.

At the end of June, training took place for facilitators and technicians who work or have worked with Aid. It was an intense 5 days in Palermo, Italy, sharing and testing the Toolkit’s methodologies with 25 people from five countries and organizations: aimed at technicians who want to encourage the participation of citizens in life, in the community and in the world.

ProstoRož shared their work in a neighborhood in Ljubljana where they run a ‘Library of Things‘, a kind of community center – and came to share their ‘City Visionary’ methodologies; MappingforChange shared the mapping methods they use in civic engagement with various communities in the suburbs of London; Palermo-based Bond of Union guided us through the Capo neighborhood where they work and shared the wonderful work of the Marea Museum; and Tesserae from Berlin shared their research work and the tools they use such as Urban Reconnaissance, Urban Memo or Urban sketches.

In Portugal, the tools will be used in the territory of Ajuda, in partnership with local institutions such as the Junta de Freguesia. We hope to help engage people in this area to participate more actively in the community and create civic initiatives and projects that contribute to the local economy.
