The MigratED project is going for a well-deserved swim; with the end of the school year, the sessions in schools organized as part of the “MigratED_migrations, human rights and education” project have also come to an end. As part of the “Citizenship and Development” subject, several classes were made aware of different themes of social equity, cultural diversity and social inclusion – dismantling stereotypes and increasing the ability to ‘read the media’. At an outdoor picnic, among snacks, games and conversations, we celebrated the end of this cycle with each class!

In the next school year, we will continue the project by promoting participation and media literacy among students, teachers, assistants, parents and the surrounding community – we have already planned the work for the next school year with four schools and Lusófona University.

Teacher training is ready and registration is open: the week-long training is already full (you never know how many places will open up for the waiting list, so if you still want to try your luck, sign up). But until August 15, you can now sign up for the two training sessions (6 hours) that we will be holding. ‘Media literacy and global citizenship: understanding human rights and migration’ will work on basic media literacy skills for educators and teachers – and will also provide digital and analog tools for educators to work with young people in the classroom.
