With autumn, another Erasmus+ project has begun and the 4Change team traveled to Brussels for the kick-off meeting of “CLAP: Collective Learning through Antiracist Productions”. The focus of this project will be the development of critical, methodological and technical skills to read and use the media – mainly audiovisual and digital, for educators and technical teams working with adults.

This first meeting initiated the planning of CLAP as well as an exchange of practices and sharing of resources between the three European organizations: the project is led by Media Animation in Belgium, in partnership with Karpos Greece and 4Change in Portugal.

CLAP involves the active participation of all people, including the most vulnerable, promoting civic engagement for greater equity by training educators. Through training modules, tools and resources for group dynamization, the CLAP project aims to make adults more autonomous in audiovisual production.

At the same time, the aim is to contribute to the fight against racism by promoting media productions that are not only worked on by people affected by such discrimination, but that also communicate and advocate for these causes: special attention will be paid to the visibility and communication of these media pieces through reflective and strategic work carried out by the groups themselves.

How can amateur productions be used as an opportunity for activism? Erasmus+ funding will allow partner organizations the time to innovate in their practices and resources and allow them to finalize these educational resources technically, aesthetically and linguistically so that they become open and usable by as many people as possible.
