We recently had students visit the Oeiras Through Our Eyes exhibition at the Palácio Anjos (Algés), where they were able to see their own work in the spotlight. It was a moment of pride, joy and strong involvement with the area.

The exhibition is open until June 10, with free admission. It is the culmination of the 4th edition of the Museu do Bairro project, a participatory photography initiative that invites young people and teachers to investigate, reinterpret and share the material and immaterial heritage of the municipality of Oeiras.

This project is promoted by 4Change and has been hosted by Oeiras City Council and Oeiras Cultura, through the Oeiras Educa program.

The Neighborhood Museum is a non-formal education and active participation practice with an impact in the areas of culture, social cohesion and local development.

We are available to share the experience with other municipalities that want to explore this model of collaborative work with young people and school communities.
