In April, Costume Colossal – Association for the Integration of the Gypsy Community, in partnership with Almada Mundo – International Association, with the support of Almada Town Council and the NGDO 4Change, organized two awareness-raising sessions on Gypsy History and Culture, as part of the European project CLAP – Collective Learning through Anti-Racist Media Production.

The sessions took place at Agrupamento de Escolas Ruy Luís Gomes (April 11) and Agrupamento da Trafaria (April 16), with the active participation of teachers, educators and operational assistants.

Through the CLAP project’s educational video and the first-person testimonies of Vicência Cabeças and Fernando Maia do Carmo, spaces were created for listening, dialog and critical reflection on prejudices associated with the Roma community.

Pedagogical resources were also shared for working to combat discrimination in an educational context.

4Change, as CLAP’s Portuguese partner, ensures the dynamization of training activities and the promotion of media content with an anti-racist and inclusive focus.
