Two schools, 7 classes, a community of educators (from teachers to assistants) and volunteers, artists and activists – both in Alpiarça and in Bairro Padre Cruz. We are building a HUMANO Festival for next spring, supported by the Active Citizens Funds / EEA Grants program.
It’s been two years of partnership between 4Change and the Histórias para Pensar Association, the José Relvas (Alpiarça) and Bairro Padre Cruz (Lisbon) school groups, together with the communities of the Carnide Parish Council and Alpiarça Town Council. We also have facilitators, filmmakers, art educators and intercultural mediation and the partnership of the National Arts Plan. We hope to make a big impact with the project, to cultivate a more human space in each community.
Each April, the HUMANO Festival event will show everything that happens during the activities:
- workshops in cultural mediation and the arts contribute to increasing the democratic literacy, human rights culture and civic participation of young people;
- training school community professionals and social/cultural action technical staff as multipliers of sustainable themes and interventions;
- community involvement, with local partnerships (citizens, associations, libraries)
We hope to infect other schools across the country with this aggregation of tools and interventions for the valorization of human rights and tolerance in our communities, to advocate for a more HUMAN world with more social inclusion.
